Yaxham Mill Reviews

4Inn Self ClassifiedRatings explained
NORWICH ROAD YAXHAM, DEREHAM, NR191RP
Being only 2 minutes from the A47, but in the most relaxing countryside environment, Yaxham Mill has 11 modern bedrooms, a highly acclaimed, yet informal restaurant and a bar serving real ales, as well as all your favourites. We really do stand out from the crowd sure to the Mill; the present Mill Tower was built in 1860 for the owner William Critoph. At a height of 48 feet with 6 stories and four double suttered sails, the Mill Tower was a spectacular sight when tarred and freshly painted. The conversion to accommodation, restaurant and bar has been sympathetic, but modern in style, with with rooms boasting great showers, flatscreen TVs and Wi-Fi Internet Access. We're trying to keep the place nice and friendly too. We're family run, and the staff are always welcoming.

Very nice family run Inn. I had booked a single room but they upgraded me to a double at no extra charge as they were fairly quiet. Nice comfortable/clean room and good grub with very friendly staff.

Very impressive service from a fairly young but well-trained staff. Room was a good size, clean and well-equipped. Food at the bar was excellent (and portions are very large), as was the beer. For me this is a real find in this area.

Very friendly and helpful staff, a comfortable room and tasty food in a welcoming atmosphere, all you need really. Broadband availability was a real bonus for me (e-mails and online database for work, bbc i player, Setanta and Skype for leisure.) I will certainly stay again if in the area. Slight downside was the apparent lack of a true communal area which if you're travelling on your own tends to drive you back to your room a little too quickly.

OK, everything you read about the portions are true....if you are hungry great! If your not then work up an appetite beforehand, or do some exercise after!
Rooms are good size and well presented.
Nice location, quiet but accessible.

I arrived after 9pm and was immediately greeted and shown to my room. Really appreciated this as I didnt want to go into the bar with my bags.
I would have really liked a bath but my room only had a shower.
The room hads a flat screen tv on the wall and a very comfy double bed which I fell into and relaxed until I fell asleep.
Very peaceful place and fantastic service at a great price.
Lovely breakfast served with a smile.
Thank you for looking after me

Absolutely loved this place, very clean and imaculate. Staff very friendly with a nice atmosphere.
We went on a theme night (Chinese) and would like to go back again to sample the food from the usual menu. Chinese was nice but some of it a bit overcooked which was probably because they were trying to keep it hot through out the night. Desert which was from usual menu was fab so we think usual food would be too.
Definately recommend a visit and it's a lovely place for a chill out evening away from the hussle and bussle.

Couldn't fault it, but I would have preferred a room with a bath.

would definitely stay again. stayed in millers cottage..very cosy. Food in restaurant very good although portions we thought were rather large ( and we have good appetites) could be over facing for some. Staff very friendly

The rooms are adequate, with a little 'tweeking' they could be improved to a higher standard. i.e A new bed throw- with matching assessories etc. The food was excellent and I would recommend the hotel to others and stay there again without hesitation. We experienced both styles of breakfast that had been reported by other residents - the two chefs were so amusing and nothing was too much trouble, the self service style is not my favourite but the quality was excellent.

Great value, quaint room and wide screen tv! Shame about the coffee and the cold plates at breakfast. Didn't have evening meal but looked interesting menu. Perhaps next time.

I only stayed one night but found the room to be above my expectations for the price paid, the room was spotlessly clean the bed comfortable and as the the room was in in a seperate building from the pub restaurant it was very quite. The breakfast was self service as mutch as you want and supurb.
